Deceased students Tate Myre, 16; Hannah St. Juliana, 14, Madison Baldwin, 17, and Justin Schilling, 17, officials said. Shilling died Wednesday morning, according to the Auckland County Sheriff’s Office.
It is clear that Tate Myer is dedicated to his game. He is a star footballer who has been on the university team since he was a freshman at Oxford High School, the team said in a tweet.
He was not only talented in the field, but also excelled academically and was an honorary student.
“We are deeply saddened that our co-owner Tate Myre was one of the victims of the tragic event at OHS today,” the group tweeted Tuesday evening. “Tate is a great young man with a bright future and is loved by all. You will be missed, Tate.”
Myrrh’s own Twitter account is full of game highlights and screaming videos revealing his talents. One of his last tweets, on November 28, thanked the Toledo University football team for having him in a game.
A deputy Myre was loaded into their car after the shooting, but the sheriff said he died on the way to the hospital.
An online petition has surfaced calling for the school’s football field to be renamed Myrrh.
“Tate was not only a hero to his fellow students at Oxford High School, but a legend, and his brave deed must be remembered forever, and generations passed, and he risked his life to help thousands of students at Oxford. High School,” the petition said.
As of Wednesday morning, it had collected more than 48,000 signatures.
Baldwin of Medicine, 17
“This beautiful, intelligent, sweet loving woman has been sadly taken away from all of us today, leaving a huge hole in the hearts of all of us …” Graves Muscada wrote on Facebook. “This terrible day could never have been imagined or planned.”
“My daughter and son-in-law will not ask for anything at this time, however I would like them to be with each other, their other children and family at this time without worrying about work, bills and arrangements,” he said. Wrote on the campaign site.
Baldwin was an artist who loved to draw, read and write, and his family told WDIV. He is the eldest of three siblings, one younger brother and two sisters whom he loved dearly, they said.
Hannah St. Juliana, 14
“We will never forget your loving heart, goofy personality and passion for the game,” the team wrote on Twitter. “You’ve been immersed in the Oxford basketball game since 6th grade camp.”
On Tuesday night the team said it would have been his debut with the team.
“We’ll play for you this season, Hannah,” the team wrote.
Justin Shilling, 17
Justin Shilling, who died Wednesday morning, was described by his boss as the co-captain of the bowling team, a dedicated friend and so on, according to the Auckland County Sheriff’s Office.
Anidas Kitchen, who worked for Shilling, shared a statement about him on social media.
“We learned of the death of Justin Shilling, one of our bright, young Lake Orion staff, in connection with the tragic events at Oxford High School yesterday,” he wrote in his workplace. “Justin is an exemplary employee, dedicated friend and colleague, co-captain of his bowling team, and glad to be around. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
The family-owned business has three locations in Michigan and they employ several Oxford High School students.
“Since we opened our doors on Lake Orion in December 2019, most of our staff have been Oxford High School students,” the business wrote. “We are often amazed at how blessed we are to have such wonderful children as part of our Lake Orion team. Simply put – we would not be a restaurant without them. Our heart aches for all of them today as they begin to heal from this atrocity.”
Another 6 students and a teacher were shot
Another seven students – six students and a teacher – were shot dead, authorities said.
Among the injured was a 14-year-old girl who was on a ventilator after surgery, Bouchard said Tuesday night. A 14-year-old boy has a gunshot wound to the jaw and head, and the teacher who was shot has been discharged.
Senior Aidan Page heard two gunshots in a classroom Tuesday afternoon – part of the “absolutely cold, murderous” frenzy of officers second-graders.
He told CNN’s Anderson Cooper that Page saw his teacher run up and lock the door, and then the students pushed the tables against it, similar to the active sniper exercises they practiced.
“We grabbed calculators, we grabbed scissors if the shooter came in, we had to hit them,” he said, describing how the bullet pierced one of the desks they used to block the door.
