Follows such Samsung, Huawei (And Respect), Motorola, Xiaomi And Oppo, We have a new competitor in the foldable smartphone market. Reported by Engadget Chinese Earlier today, Vivo X Fold was not only Qualcomm but also the flagship of the packaging category Snapdragon 8 General1 Processor, but Under Display Fingerprint Reader – Ultrasonic Type – On Both Its main and external screens (instead of having a side-mounted capacity sensor like other foldables). Unfortunately, this device is currently only available in China.

When opened, a zirconium alloy floating middle plate rises slightly above to support the flexible AMOLED panel, making the seam less visible.

Very similar Huawei Mate X2 And the Oppo Find N, X Fold also adopted the water-drop flexible hinge design to achieve seamless folding while minimizing the folding of its foldable AMOLED panel. But Vivo took things a step further: when opened, a zirconium alloy floating middle plate gently pushes against the flexible panel, thus softening the remaining folds. While this may seem interesting, we have to see it in person to believe it.

According to TÜV Rheinland, Vivo’s X fold can survive more than 300,000 times – 100,000 more than Oppo Find N’s certification. Assuming that the average user opens and closes a foldable mobile phone 80 times a day, the X fold should be fine for about 10 years of daily use. That is, let’s assume that you can tolerate a weight of 311 grams for a long time; Samsung and Huawei’s latest large-scale foldables weigh 271g and 295g, respectively.

The Vivo X Fold features a 50MP main camera, 48MP ultra-white camera, 12MP portrait camera and 8MP telescopic zoom camera (with 5x optical zoom).

For foldable mobile, Vivo X Fold has amazingly powerful cameras. For one, it is the second foldable phone to carry a periscopic zoom camera (8MP, 5x optical zoom, optical stabilization) after Huawei’s Mate X2. The X Fold also comes with a 50MP main camera (Samsung GN5 sensor, f / 1.75, optical stabilization), a 48MP ultra-wide camera (Sony IMX598, f / 2.2, 114-degree view, low resolution) and 12MP. Portrait camera (IMX663, f / 1.98, 47mm equivalent focal length). Yes, you will get Zeiss T * finish here for its dazzling properties. In terms of screen ratio, Vivo has settled somewhere between the taller Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the wider Oppo Find N. Both are Samsung E5 AMOLED compliant and support a 120Hz upgrade rate, but only the large panel has an adaptive refresh rate to save energy. These screens can also pack their own 16MP f / 2.45 selfie cameras, however you can always open the phone and switch to “rear selfie” mode and use more powerful cameras instead.

Like its competitors, some Xfold’s built-in applications – Android 12-based OriginOS Ocean – use the foldable shape factor. For example, the camera application provides kickstand mode, which is easy for timeless videos and low-angle shots. You can use it on a laptop-like device with a built-in notes processor, as well as QQ for video calls and third-party Chinese applications such as Youku for video streaming. We hope that Vivo will extend these benefits to Western applications prior to a possible international launch.

The list of notable features is still there. The 4,600mAh dual-cell battery with 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging will help your friends in need. In fact, the X fold comes with an 80W USB-PD GaN charger with two USB-C ports, so you can charge your laptop as well.

The phone also packs Cirrus Logic CS43131 Hi-Fi chip (even without the 3.5mm headphone jack), three microphones, stereo speakers, a barometer, various heat dissipation features and an infrared port – a common feature of Chinese phones for controlling home appliances. For the first time, Vivo has added a physically quieter mode slider, which is only available on Apple and OnePlus devices these days.
