January 10 (Reuters) – Police in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday pulled a pilot out of a stricken Cessna just seconds before the plane crashed into a train and sent flying debris in all directions.
A dramatic video obtained by Reuters shows several officers rescuing the man from the crashed plane, which crashed shortly after takeoff in the Pacoima neighborhood, local media reported. When officers and pilots were a few feet away from the tracks, the passing train destroyed the plane.
“The plane failed to take off and landed on the tracks at a popular intersection,” said Luis Jimenez, a 21-year-old musician who filmed the video. Seconds before the impact, police officers rescued the pilot, and a piece of debris hit me.

The pilot was treated for injuries and wounds and his condition is stable, local media reported. Local media reported that no one traveling on the train was injured.
Video footage released Twitter By Los Angeles Police, officers showed bodycam footage of a pilot pulling blood from a plane.
The department praised its officers, saying in a tweet that they “showed heroism and quick action by saving the life of a pilot who made an emergency landing on the tracks.”
