Wednesday night game between baseball fans New York Yankees And Baltimore Orioles Stunned to see M.L.P. Referee Tim Timmans tried to cover the ground from the oncoming storm, but he did not actually throw them off the field, the official said.
A dozen team members from the field waited to cover the diamond in the ninth inning, when Timmons was frustrated to destroy the field.
Social media exploded with a bizarre view – evictions are happening, yes but the ground crew?
They quickly left the field, but Timmons said he never let them out.
“I did not ‘expel the ground crew,'” he told the Associated Press in a text message. “I don’t like them all behind the tarp, especially with the infield.”
The rain started a few minutes later, but Brett Gardner hit a two-run single to give the Yankees a 4-3 lead after New York’s third consecutive win.
“That’s the situation you want to be in,” Gardner said after the game. “You want to be in line in the game.”
The Yankees advanced to 82-64, capturing its 29th consecutive winning season, the second longest in MLP history, after its own 39-year run from 1926-64.
