Terran Mathieu is “sad” at the end of time with the bosses

In an interview with Sam McDowell from Kansas City StarMatteo said he was “sad” that bosses had not offered him a contract and “couldn’t understand” why.

Mathieu also said he would likely have accepted the same offer the chiefs made to Reid.

“Honestly, if they had offered me the Justin Reed deal, I would obviously have tried to negotiate, but if that was where they drew their line in the sand, I probably would have gotten it,” Mathieu said. “I probably to take it. The agents will do their job, but at the end of the day, the player’s decision is whether or not to sign him.”

Matteo has had meetings with the Saints and the Eagles recently, so he may be approaching his new home for the 2022 season. It won’t be the happy ending he would have set a few months ago, but he will have the opportunity to make a new one wherever he ends up playing.
