In today’s edition of Throwback Thursday, we talk about one of the biggest dance music tracks of all time. This track has been a favourite of ours for many years. When 3 free spirited artists come together, you get a masterpiece. This one essentially changed trance music forever in the US. We are talking about…

Motorcycle – As the Rush comes

Hailing from San Francisco, Josh Gabriel, Dave Dresden and vocalist JES began the moniker ‘Motorcycle’. As The Rush Comes was a number one single on Billboard’s Hot Dance Airplay chart in 2004, where it would also become the first year-end number one Dance Airplay track that same year, and became a trans-Atlantic hit, peaking at number eleven in the United Kingdom and the top 10 of several other European countries.

The Track was released on Armada Music (Netherlands), Positiva (UKand Ultra Records (USA)

In one of our interviews, we asked JES about this special track. Here’s what she had to say.

“About As The Rush Comes, When we recorded that track we had only known each other for a couple of days. It was really a song that was inspired by being inspired. I know there are a lot of rumors and theories as to what it was about, but we were just 3 crazy kids that had a wonderful connection and freedom with each other. I had a page with a bunch of lyrics on it and we recorded a couple of takes and that’s pretty much the vocal that’s on the record. I wanted to re-sing it while we were working on the track because I thought it was too simple but when I listen now it’s exactly as it’s supposed to be and I wouldn’t change a thing”.

Many theories on the internet about this track – Is it about drugs and rolling? Or is it about Sex? What do you think?

Well, to me it’s about zombies. as the rush of comes the rush is about a horde of zombies going to swarm around a person. Embrace me surround me means for nature or god to protect someone from the advances. Traveling somewhere could be anywhere means that nature or god could take us anywhere in point of life including a zombie apocalypse. Also there is a coldness in the air, but I don’t care means that the apocalypse could happen in cold weather or during the winter and the person says life goes on.
