The White House announced on Thursday that he would not be joining Biden “for at least the first few days” of his trip abroad. Instead, White House Undersecretary of State Karen Jean-Pierre traveled with the president.
“On Wednesday, with the coordination of the White House senior leadership and the medical team, I decided not to travel abroad with the president because of a family emergency, which was in favor of my family members Govt-19,” Psaki said in a statement on Sunday. “Since then, on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays I have been isolated and tested negative for Covit (via PCR). However, today, I tested positive for Covit.”
He continued: “I plan to return to work in person at the end of the ten-day isolation following a negative quick test.
