Arguably the most anticipated video game release of 2022 is the Switch title The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2.
We still don’t know much about her – including the title. Around the time of last year’s E3, Bill Trinen mentioned how Nintendo was “banning” from sharing the name To avoid revealing too much.
With that in mind, veteran video game journalist Paul Gill — who runs his own website, has appeared on Nintendo Power and has worked with many other video game outlets over the years — shares a new blog post titled: “The Botw Name Sequel (was) The Legend of Zelda: Same Duality“.
Gale’s “intel” usually comes from friends he’s made in the gaming industry over the past 12 years. Here’s his latest rumor that didn’t come from a direct source, but one that he felt was still worth sharing:
“…The BotW sequel and its main hook are in the proper name, proving the ‘breathing’ familiarity from the 2017 song and giving a nod to the fact that you can play with more than one title link mentioned above (including various polar themes), hence the ‘dual’ .
“Duplication between character abilities, on land and floating areas, past and present, darkness and light, etc. (Individual noted that this name has been seen for a long time, presumably, and could be one of the many template titles.”)
“…If this is true, it stands to reason that Nintendo and Mr. Eiji Onuma have been very silent about the title. Whether the name is bogus or not final – close to the actual name, it still makes for an interesting topic of discussion.”
As Gale noted, what the source saw, it could be one of several block titles earlier during the development of Breath of the Wild 2.
YouTube Nintendo Prime He also mentioned on his recent live show how he talked to Jill about the source:
“If you are looking for his source, it won’t happen… I won’t tell you his source, he can confirm in chat – me and him [Paul Gale] He had a private conversation, and I’m well aware of how he got this information… Paul and I have confidence, and I wouldn’t take that confidence out just to reveal sources… All I can say is that he’s someone who can be fairly reliable.”
Here’s what Bill Trainen had to say during an interview with IGN last year when he was asked what the name Breath of the Wild 2:
“As for why we’re holding off on the name, you’ll just have to keep an eye on us because, obviously, Zelda names are kind of important…those subtitles…begin to give a little hint about what might happen.”
What do you think about all this? Do you have any idea what the name of Breath of the Wild 2 will be when it finally gets released? Leave your thoughts and theories below.
