LONDON – UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is set to unveil on Monday the final steps to ease the UK’s locking rules.

The government said on Sunday that new guidelines on the 1-meter social distance rule, face masks, care home visits and work from home would be announced. This weekend a government minister told the BBC that certain rules, such as wearing a mask, would become a personal choice when restrictions were relaxed.

Johnson reiterated that Covid “will become a virus that we are already learning to live with like the flu,” Downing Street said in a statement Sunday night.

Johnson also noted that the government’s long-term plan to ease controls would be “Independence Day” or “Step 4” – which would take place on July 19 if the government’s “four tests” on easing Govt restrictions were completed.

Look at the data to confirm that the vaccination roll continues successfully and the rates of infections are not hospitalized. The government has said that these will be assessed on July 12.

The deregulation was previously scheduled for June 21 in the UK, but was delayed due to the widespread Delta variation spreading across the UK

As infection rates have risen, hospital admissions and deaths have not risen, indicating that corona virus vaccines are working to prevent serious infections.

The British government has previously indicated its reluctance to hold on to control for longer than is strictly necessary. This is despite some concerns among medical professionals and opposition politicians that restrictions could be lifted very soon as the variance spreads to the UK, Europe and beyond.

In a statement released on Sunday, Johnson acknowledged that “the epidemic is not over and cases will continue to rise in the coming weeks.”

“We must all continue to carefully manage the dangers posed by coyotes and use judgment when talking about our lives,” he added, adding, “Thanks to the successful release of our vaccination program, we are moving forward with caution through our road map (to raise the lock) on how to restore people’s liberties.” We will set that today. “

Britain’s Govt immunization program is one of the fastest in the world, with 86% of adults now getting the first dose of a vaccine and 63.8% getting two doses. Government data shows.

The Prime Minister will announce the details of the lifting of the lockout rules in the UK at a press conference on Monday afternoon, which will begin at 5pm London time. Health Secretary Sajid Javed will present the plans to Parliament at the same time.
