Dressed in his signature blue coat, Paddington Bear sat with Queen Elizabeth II for tea at Buckingham Palace as part of the platinum jubilee celebrations marking 70 years on the throne.

It was a meeting of ages, and it didn’t take long for the duo to realize they had one thing in common. The polite bear puts down a teapot, and offers the queen a marmalade sandwich, which was folded deep inside his red-brimmed hat.

“I always keep one for emergencies,” he told her.

She opened a black handbag, and then took out a sandwich as well.

She says, “I am.” “Keep me here.”

Paddington panted and his eyes widened.

The Queen’s meeting with Paddington was shown to a crowd of thousands outside Buckingham Palace to open a concert to celebrate the Queen. The short video met laughter and applause of the crowd, according to the Associated Press.
