Chris Middleton had 17 points and Bobby Portis had 16 points. Phoenix Chris Paul led the Suns with 26 points.
Born in Athens, Greece, Antedogounbo scored 16 for 25 from the field and scored all but two of his 19 free throws. He had five volumes on a show that praised commentators and fellow players as minors.
“I want to thank Milwaukee for trusting me, and thank you to my team,” said Antedogounbo after accepting the final MVP award. “They played every weird game hard. I trusted this team. I wanted to do this in this city, I wanted to do this with them, so I’m glad we were able to do that.”
Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer praised the Suns, saying they have great players, a great coach and a great organization. He then praised his team.
“These players, they are champions every day,” he told ABC, the broadcaster of the NBA Finals. “Every day they come to the building where they are champions, they are embracing what is getting better every day, they ‘are embracing competing, they’ are embracing playing together. It’s making them champions tonight. I can not be proud of them.”
The 11-time All-Star Ball, who made his first appearance in an NBA final, said he had not seen a state sheet, but felt like his team had made several breakthroughs. “They made the shots at the right time, we didn’t,” he said. “We didn’t get stops when we needed them. They beat us.”
Paul, 36, said he was not thinking about retiring.
It was a loss for Sons coach Monty Williams.
“I think it will take me a minute. I did not take it as an order. It’s hard to get here. I wanted it so badly, you know. It’s hard to process right now. It’s hard, that’s all.”
After the first quarter, the Bucks took a 13-point lead, 29-16. The Antetto ounbo had 10 points and six reps during this period. The Suns shot 7 for 24 (29%) in the quarter. This is the lowest point for Phoenix in the first quarter of the 2021 playoffs.
But Paul led a Suns rally, the Phoenix quickly made up for the deficit with 10-4 points, taking a 47-42 lead at half-time.
The score was 77 after three quarters as Antedo Ounpo scored 20 points during this period. As the Bucks went away in the fourth quarter, he had 13 more points in which he continued to score six points for his team.
In 1971, Bucks won the title in their third season behind the unique play of Kareem Abdul-Jafar (later Lou Alkindor) and Oscar Robertson. They dropped Baltimore bullets in the final four games and won the final game on the road.
This is the final appearance of the final since 1974, and the Suns’ third appearance in the finals, most recently in 1993. This right has never won the NBA Championship.
Three athletes will travel to Tokyo from the NBA Final to adapt to Team USA at the Olympics: Middleton, Bucks Guard Juro Holiday and Suns Guard Devin Booker. After the game, Booker said he would board the plane in a few hours.
The post-game locker room was “quiet, a lot of emotions. It’s been a long season, we went a lot,” he said.
