KSP investigates the ‘situation’ at the Kentucky State Fair

Kentucky State Police are investigating a “situation” at the Kentucky State Fair Saturday night, fair officials said. According to MetroSafe, around 9:20 p.m., a report of shots fired near Midway came in. In a statement from the State Fair, staff said they “took immediate action to ensure the safety of all guests.” As a precaution, the State Fair began a soft close at 10 p.m., while KSP continues to investigate and secure the area. No injuries were reported in the incident. However, police said several arrests have been made and charges are pending. Police said the names of those involved are not being released at this time because of the ongoing investigation.
