Yeezy Day is back — and Kanye West It is angry about … says Adidas He didn’t get his endorsement for this year’s event, and hasn’t talked about his many issues with the brand.
The artist expressed his problems in an essay IG message to campus Tuesday … marks the third annual Yeezy Day, where adidas re-releases a number of popular models from Ye’s sneaker line for two days.
You didn’t hold back on the Three Stripes — saying, “Adidas created the Yeezy Day idea without my consent. Then went and brought back old styles without my consent.”
The 45-year-old says he didn’t give the brand an “okay” on nearly everything, including colors, names or hiring people who work for him.
“I hired Yeezy’s GM without my approval,” West said. “I took the talents on the production side and sprinkled them all over Adidas Originals without my permission.”
Of course, Ye’s anger at Adidas may have stemmed from their recent beef over the release of their own slides … which he says ripped off Yeezy slides.
Yew also talks about this in the news … “When I first ordered adidas to make more Yeezy slides, the GM lied to my face and said they didn’t have the capacity.”
“Meanwhile, adidas was copying my slides and making their own versions of the Yeezy slide.”
“Yeezy accounts for 68% of adidas online sales,” Ye said. “Enter God.”
The partnership between Ye and adidas began in 2015 — with the release of the first model, the ‘Boost 750’. In 2020, Ye’s sneakers reportedly generated nearly $1.7 billion in annual revenue.
