It’s only fitting that James Gunn just released a holiday special because he’s currently the shining star at the heart of the superhero movie universe. Not only was Gann just released Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special before next year Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3but it’s also new Co-Chairman of DC Filmsis currently working How do you compete with Marvel across all media.

If these kinds of things interest you –And if you’re reading this, Maybe they doTwitter Gunn is a must. He’s one of the very, very small handful of solid geek creators still actively involved on the platform. And the And this past weekend Gunn was in full force, responding to the fans burning questions about The Guardians and even sparking some larger generalizations about DC’s future.

starting from GuardiansGunn did his best to clear up one of the biggest privacy questions, which is when and how the Guardians of the Galaxy bought Knowhere, the massive Celestial Skull whereCollector resided in the first movie. Although Guardians are sometimes heroes, they work as mercenaries and bring in a fair amount of money. Gan tweeted. “After Thanos attacked Knowhere, they bought it from the Collector. It was a burnt shell and they rebuilt it.” At Knowhere we see that the Guardians are now friends with Cosmo, the dog who was seen briefly in the Collector’sOriginally Guardians. Gunn confirmed Cosmo wasdid not leave, Guardians met on this planet.

In terms of schedules between holiday special And the last appearance of the Guardians in Thor: Love and ThunderGunn was less clear. “I’m not sure how that works out in the timeline (those things aren’t discussed) but in my opinion they were only with Thor for a few weeks,” He said. It was clear though why Peter Quill was less good More down to earth than other places. “Because when we’re 8 we process trauma a lot, a lot differently than we do when we’re 38.” Gan tweeted.

There also seems to be many, many questions about the new Groot, which Gunn dubbed “Swole Groot”. In his opinion, this is not the same Groot we saw in the first movie who lovingly sacrificed himself for the sake of his team. And with new life and experiences, this explains why his body developed differently. “I think he’s outspoken in the movies,” Gan tweeted. “Since Baby Groot was honestly an infant without OG Groot knowing. But now that Groot’s body has developed differently, it’s even more obvious.”

In response to questions about the practicality of the special, Gunn confirmed what was and wasn’t real in terms of filming locations. “Knowhere was mostly practical with a few stretches and the spaceship (and Hollywood Blvd) was all practical,” He said.

Just a swarm of Marvel Information. sWith so much more recent in Gunn’s career, his opening up about DC Film’s future was less definitive, but no less exciting. The DCU will be connected across movies and TV (and animation), Gann saidkind of ending a slew of tweets where he said he’d be there 2D and 3D animationwhich Some anime are related to the world of movies and television (while others do not)And the Future video games He will be associated with the larger DC Universe, is expected to write and direct some DC projects in the future, and while there is a connection between the movies and the comics, he is only involved in the movies.

Finally, while Gunn has been upfront that he’s only been to DC for a few weeks and that plans are in the works, he’s speculating that At least some news to be out of it And co-chair Peter Safran planned well in advance of next year San Diego Comic-Con. But in the meantime, he must finish and live up to it Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3which will not only tie into The Guardians’ story, but Gunn’s at Marvel story as well.

What are the main takeaways here? Well, follow James Jean on Twitter for one. And second, please everyone keep being nice to him so he doesn’t leave. Because it is unbelievable that someone with such influence is so accessible to everyone.
