In his State of the Union address, Congress expressed bipartisan support for Ukraine

Blue and yellow are not generally complimentary shades, and people like Brenda Lawrence, a delegate from Michigan, and Brenda Lawrence, a Democrat, wore a bright blue dress with a bold yellow blazer. The color combo didn’t stop at Indiana Republican Rep. Victoria Sport, who wore the same – yellow dress, bright blue blazer. Sports emigrated from Ukraine and has deep ties with that country.

Kathy McMorris Rodgers, a Republican from Washington, D.C., wore a yellow blazer that appeared to have a neon sheen. Sen., a Republican from Iowa. Joni Ernst, who was studying agriculture at a college in Ukraine, is wearing a blue and yellow sunflower thorn he wore on his lap. Sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine.

First lady Jill Biden also wore a sunflower. An appliqu of small embroidered sunflower was attached to one sleeve of Pitton’s blue silk dress designed by New York-based Sally Lapointe. Fiden’s spokesman Michael Larosa added to the CNN last-minute sunflower dress, used Tuesday.

The speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, was also dressed in a bright blue dress by Sen, a Democrat from Hawaii. Masi Hirono, wearing a yellow scarf. Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm chose a special-purpose scarf, a tulip silk scarf made by a Ukrainian designer, which was presented to him by the Ukrainian Foreign Minister in Ukraine last August.

The women of Capitol Hill were not the only ones to receive Ukrainian support. California Democrat Eric Swallowell wore a large blue scarf over his pants. New York Representative. Hakeem Jeffries and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, a Maryland Democrat, are two of the many male members wearing the yellow tie. Senate Pro Tempore President Sen. Patrick Leihi of the Democratic Party of Vermont told CNN on Tuesday that he spent some time in the morning finding the right yellow to wear in support of Ukraine.

From left to right, sen. Patrick Leehi, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Millie are waiting for US President Joe Biden's State of the Union address.

This is not the first time this year that a color story has appeared on a State of the Union address.

In 2020, dozens of women members of Congress chose white clothing in protest of then-President Donald Trump’s agenda and paid tribute to suffrage on the 100th anniversary of the victory of women suffrage. This is not the first time whites have been elected during Trump’s tenure. In 2018, many House Democratic women wore black to the State of the Union to send messages of sexual harassment to Trump. In contrast, Trump’s wife Melania Trump came to the State of the Union in a white pant suit, which was widely interpreted as a symbol of support for women in the context of headlines about extramarital affairs.
