Hurricane test via Iowa; At least seven people have died

At least seven people were killed Saturday in severe storms and tornadoes tore through Iowa. Madison County Emergency Management confirms six deaths after a hurricane struck near Winterset. Des Moines National Weather Service says initial evidence is at least EF-3. The province says the deaths include four adults and two children under the age of five. On Sunday, emergency managers identified the victims as 63-year-old Melissa Pasley, 64-year-old Rodney Clark, 72-year-old Cecilia Lloyd, 37-year-old Michael Polker, 5-year-old Kenley Polker and 2-year-old. Age Owen Polker. The seventh death occurred in Lucas County. Significant damage has been reported to the south and east of Chariton. Other damage reports include Red Haw State Park. Emergency responders assess the damage and carry out search and rescue operations. At the height of the storm, MidAmerican Energy’s malfunction map showed more than 10,000 people without electricity.
