Update (12/14/22): Following the announcement below regarding the PS4 version of Hogwarts Legacy, developer Avalanche has provided an update for the PS5 version. The current version of the game, which is on track to launch in February, It’s officially gone gold, which basically means it’s game over. We imagine the time between now and release day will be spent crushing bugs for a day.
yes, Hogwarts Legacy Delayed again – The difference this time is that it only affects last generation versions of the game. The PS5 version is still scheduled to arrive on February 10, 2023, but the PS4 version has been pushed back to April 4.
The news was recently confirmed on social media:
This amazing release schedule seems to have been set in order to “deliver the best possible gaming experience across all platforms”. In other words, the PS4 release is probably too rough right now, and won’t be ready in time for February. If this game build needs more time in the oven, it makes sense to push it back, and those on PS5 won’t be affected by the delay.
Tomorrow – December 14 – The developer plans to showcase a new gameplay, giving us the latest look at the highly anticipated game. Hogwarts Legacy puts you in the shoes of a fifth-year student, who attended the sacred school in the 19th century long before the events of Harry Potter. With the entire castle and surrounding grounds open for exploration, it looks like a dream game for many – hopefully you can land it in February. Then again in April.
